Macbeth sure made a fool of himself this time! I have no idea why he saw fit to act like that in front of our distinguished guests... I suppose I better backtrack a little. Today King Macbeth and I moved into our new palace at Forres. A housewarming party was in order, so preparations were made, and it was announced. When the guests were arriving Macbeth the caught eye of one individual, and then abandoned everything else, and started to converse in whispers. I noticed my husband just went into a corner and started wringing his hands. I tried telling Macbeth he needed to be a better host, but he just ignored me! Humph... When he did start to "interact" with his surroundings he just started going into total hysterics. Macbeth was (for reasons I'll likely never understand) screaming and yelling at an EMPTY chair.
... On an unrelated note, I wonder why that chair was empty? I seem to recall that Banquo was personally invited to our function, yet I don't remember him actually being there. I'm sure he must've had a poignant reason for not attending. I'm glad Banquo wasn't there, though because Macbeth's antics were just embarrassing! I tried doing some "damage control" to soothe the guests in attendance, but I have a feeling they didn't buy into my explanation as much as I would have desired them to. The joys of having a husband! Being a queen isn't all it's cracked up to be.
