Act: 1
My husband will be KING! I could hardly
believe it when Macbeth told me the news in his recent correspondence. The
Weird Sisters (a group of three witches) told him they foresaw him being a ruler
and gaining the title Thane of Cawdor (in addition to Thane of Glamis which
he already had). Not long after the witches had spoken (and disappeared)
two men by the names of Ross and Angus announced that this honour had been
bestowed upon Macbeth. This wasn't understood at first. It seemed impossible
that he'd get that extra noble title. It wasn't until Macbeth learned
the current Thane of Cawdor admitted he had committed an act of Treason
(assisting Norwegians and other "rebels" fighting against our beautiful
Scotland) that the pieces began to fit together. If that could come true,
then I see no reason not to believe the "sisters" about my Macbeth being
king. I just wish it could happen NOW! King Duncan is coming
to visit Macbeth and I at Inverness castle.
King Duncan claims his son Malcolm will be his successor. That is not
going to occur if I have anything to do with it! It is time for them to
die... good riddance (though neither Macbeth or I shall let on about our
true feelings)! The plan shall commence...
We shall disguise their deaths so it will look like the servants committed the murder instead of us!
